Over the bridge from Paradise Island, head east two blocks on Bay Drive to Nassau Yacht Haven. Both locals and visitors frequent this crowded, lively restaurant, with superb food. Atwo-level deck offers great views of the harbor, bridge, marina, and Atlantis. There is no air conditioning, and smoking is permitted on the deck. The cook here knows what he is doing – fresh seafood is cooked to order and the whole hog snapper melts in your mouth. A local describes it as “five times better than anything else.” It is prepared whole because it is so tender it would break apart too easily if filleted. You can select your own fish or lobster. Size determines price. The small snapper is $30 and is more than enough food.Wine and champagne selections can be pricey. Tasty mango daiquiris are a must. Dinner entrées range from $18 to $58. Lunch is from $5 to $21.
